FPAP BOD Meeting 28 May 2010
Dear Members BOD
Meeting of FPAP BOD was conducted on 28 may, 2010.
Following is the brief of the points discussed:
1. Proceedings started with the recitation of Holy Quran.
2. President chaired the meeting.
3. Secretary presented the action points of GBM for assigning the doers by BOD.
4. Amendment of By-Laws to cover the variations generally arising from low level of participation by members / executives at different levels was noted with concern and the minimum attendance levels were determined. Participation in at least 50 % BOD Meetings and one who misses three consecutive meetings should loose his position after the approval of BOD.
5. Based on the comments of four members of BOD who were assigned to evaluate the draft of Memorandum of Affiliation of Islamabad Chapter, BOD decided to presently drop the idea of establishing Islamabad Chapter.
6. Khalid Nadeem, head of committee formed to find the ways and means and financial resources so that self owned FPAP Office and Training Centre could be materialized speedily, briefed the BOD of the efforts yet made. It was decided that a separate account should be opened for this major project. Subscriptions of Life Membership 10,000 for individuals and 100,000 for organizations should be deposited in this account. At least 5 % from each project should also be put here and concerted efforts should be made to generate the funds. A working plan, with basic drawings and requirements of the building should be put up in next BOD.
7. Members were requested to be punctual in regularly depositing deposit their annual subscription.
8. Recognition of FPAP team members who are performing selflessly and extra ordinarily will be done in a befitting ceremony after next BOD.
9. A committee comprising of Saeed Jadoon, Ali Irfan, Khalid Nadeem and Arif Khan should finalize the details on FPAP’s role as an accredition body by the next BOD.
10. Members requiring FPAP Office services during holidays should inform the office at least two days in advance.
11. Ms. Zulekha Soorma will supervise and help Sylvester and Qurat-ul-Ain the preparations of different training courses
12. Website should be updated regularly. An amount of Rs.1500 per month was approved for the person hired for the purpose. Qurat-ul-Ain should ensure regular updation.
13. Certain courses should be registered with technical board. Ibrahim Sahito will make efforts with the help of Muhammad Azam.
14. An e-mail letter should be posted every year for renewal. Record should be regularly updated. Qurat-ul-Ain should ensure the action.
- Following points were deffered for next BOD.
- Earning scope should be broadened; trainings are not the only way out.
- We should somehow try to get government contacts.
- FPAP should emerge on MEDIA.
- FPAP should work as fire auditors for insurance companies.
15. An amount of Rs.1000 was approved for FPAP Volunteer Facilitators for different projects on account of conveyance and meals. It will be actual even if exceed Rs:1000.
16. One Legal Adviser should be selected
17. Stickers Design should be designed by Saeed Jadoon and Ibrahim Sahito
18. FPAP BOD Contact List should be given to each member of BOD.
19. One complimentary training / event should be arranged for members every month. Yearly program should be chalked out by Zulekha Soorma.
20. FPAP should start Qualification Scholarship for those who opt to attain IFE and other such qualifications. Details to be chalked out by Khalid Nadeem and Muhammad Azam.
21. Fire Specialization Courses should be considered. Farhat Hussain to work ahead.
22. FPAP participation in F&S Pakistan 2010 was appreciated
23. Next BOD Meeting should be conducted on 7 August 2010
24. Qurat-ul-Ain should keep record of each meeting and follow-up actions.
